About GCCUS
Global Carbon Capture Utilization
President's Greetings
I am Ki-Won Jun, the President of the Global Carbon Capture Utilization and Sequestration Society (GCCUS).
Global warming is one of the most urgent challenges facing humanity today. This accelerates climate change, causing natural disasters and ecosystem destruction around the world. Damage caused by climate change is becoming more serious day by day.
CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Sequestration) technology is a key technology necessary for sustainable growth while achieving carbon neutrality. CCUS technology allows us to more actively reduce the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by capturing and utilizing or sequestering emitted carbon dioxide.
GCCUS is an academic society established to develop and disseminate CCUS technology. We will work to promote academics and develop the industry in the CCUS field by gathering experts in the field of carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration in Korea and abroad. Above all, we will act as a catalyst to promote the development and commercialization of related technologies and accelerate the development and commercialization of CCUS technology.
To this end, we will strengthen exchange and cooperation among society members through various activities such as academic conferences, seminars, and expert training, and discover and propose effective policies for the development and dissemination of CCUS technology. In addition, we will strengthen global connections and contribute to the international community's efforts to respond to climate change.
Our goal is to recognize the seriousness of global warming and work with experts in various fields to find solutions to this problem. Furthermore, we hope that our society will grow and develop and contribute to solving the problem of global warming, the greatest crisis facing humanity.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone working together to address climate change.
Thank you.
